"I could Tell you
about my adventures beginning from this morning,"
said Alice a little timidly;
"but it's no use going back to yesterday, because I
was a different person then."
This Alice In Wonderland quote tells it all.
Renee grew up in Philadelphia where she began her
singing career. She won the Police Athletic Leagues
contest and was chosen to sing the National Anthem at
the Phillies game when she was only 12 years old. She
worked with the Broadway legends Howard Ashman &Marvin
Hamlisch while opening in the Broadway musical
Smile. She then followed to play Eponine in the First
National Tour of Les Miserables.
Traveling to London she was a part of the singing group
Boy Krazy signed to Polydor/Polygram records.
Boy Krazy had a big number one hit single with That’s
What Love Can Do. This experience brought her to
writing her own songs and she started a band called Fig
followed by the bands Delux and RnR. Locally she
performed in NYC at the Bitter End, CBGB’s Gallery,
Sidewalk Cafe and many other venues.
Her theater experience continued with stints on the
stage as Marty in Grease at The Sacramento Music
Circus, Pattie in Smokey Joe’s Cafe at The John W.
Engeman Theater and her favorite role of all time was
Grizabella in the final National Tour Equity production
of Cats.
Performing on Broadway and traveling the world bring
Renee to a unique song writers perspective. She
connects it all in a daily yoga practice and through her
gorgeous singing voice. She embodies the balance
of strength and passion.
